Wat Pho - Bangkok, Thailand

Wat Pho is one of the largest and oldest wats or temples in Bangkok and is home to more than one thousand Buddha images as well as one of the largest single Buddha image of 160 ft length - the Reclining Buddha (right side). This temple is also adjacent to the Grand Palace. According to our tour guide, the Reclining Buddha which reclines to the right side means he is approaching death or 'Nirvana' (eternal happiness) and if a Buddha statue is reclining to the left side, it means that he is just resting or relaxing.
