Crossing the Mekong River in Neak Loeung, Krong Prey Veng Province

We took the Sinh Tourist bus from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Phnom Penh in Cambodia.  Our bus boarded a ferry in Neak Loeung then crossed the Mekong River! It was an exciting experience for me because I haven't tried the RORO transport in the Philippines.   The crossing lasted for only 10 minutes but I was overjoyed.  There were also vendors selling exotic food like crickets and tarantulas. The river was brownish when we crossed because it was raining.  At the far right side of the river, there was an ongoing bridge construction so once it is finished, I think the buses will take that route.  So good thing, we were able to experience the ferry crossing!

Well, the Mekong River is just the 12th longest river in the world and the 7th in Asia.  It originated from the Tibetan Plateau and runs through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.  So it basically runs into six countries.
