The Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand was built by King Rama I in 1782 and has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam (Thailand). Though the recent king resides at the Chitralada Palace, the Grand Palace is still used for official events. The Grand Palace is composed of numerous buildings most of which are government offices but since the abolition of absolute monarchy in 1932, all the government offices have been moved out but still, the Grand Palace is a must see attraction once in Bangkok.
